Venice Beach Photowalk – 12/29/2018
Sunday, December 29.
Santa Monica & Venice Beach Boardwalk, once again. Next time we're going to do something different because I'm feeling all beached out.
This was a fun day with some cool moments, and maybe a couple of uncool moments. It's very rare for me to get into any sort of altercation with anybody while out shooting, but there was a man on the Santa Monica pier selling those cheap balloons on a stick that tourists seem to like to buy for their kids. I was going for a shot of the balloons and the man straight lost it and began to make a spectacle of himself. Apparently he felt that I was breaking the law by shooting him, and threatening his business. The sad part of all of this is that I wasn't shooting him at all, I was interested in the balloons! Once he started to gesticulate and worry himself he suddenly became interesting and so, yeah, I shot him. You might feel your own way about situations such as these, and I'd be more than happy to debate this with you at your convenience.
